    Best Room-To-Room 4K Projector

I first bought the Xgimi Horizon Pro 4K, but saw that this model came out a few weeks ago. I read a few technical reviews on this model and figured it’d be worth a shot. I would normally buy an LG or Sony OLED TV because of the picture quality, but I wanted a big screen in the form of something portable enough for moving between rooms in my home (and home-relocation, when the time comes). Here are my thoughts on the Ultra HD model… Pros: 1. Beautiful picture, with rich colors and great detail, that’s close enough to the feel of watching a TV for 99% of people. 2. Bright light with vivid tonal mapping, highlights, and contrast. 3. Beautiful room-filling sound. 4. Beautiful design with much-appreciated light dimmer with motion sensor, should an object/person get in the way of the projection, making it safe for the eyes of little ones and critters. Cons: 1. Though beautiful and “premium,” I’m concerned that the PU leatherette aurface will be a magnet for my cats to scratch, and im concerned how this will age in the long run as I move it from room-to-room. 2. There is the occasional glitch with the Xgimi software when streaming directly from the projector’s OS. Ideally, I’d stream video from my XBox Series X, because that produced the best video quality of any non-Blu-Ray player I’ve seen; although, a Chromecast dongle would work sufficiently well for a more seamless option.

Not True 4k When Streaming / Very Bad Halo Effects

It’s cool & all but when I watch movies off VUDU, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, it doesn’t read the conent correctly. Maybe it’s the App’s or the unit itself, maybe it can be fixed in a software update but as of right now, that is not the case. Only Apple TV, some of Disney IMAX content & on youtube it’ll stream 4K if whatever you’re watching is 4K. People on Reddit say to turn off all the auto correction features because of halo’ing around the main screen & that you should use manual correction which after testing is very true. Out the box is horrible, I do find myself editing the image color’s often, never really a “right spot”. I came from a pico projector & it was only 720P with upscaling to 1080P so compare to that, it’s a big difference. Overall, it’s good, not great but better then most under $1000. The speakers are pretty good, I can’t complain. I use Bluetooth of my soundbar & it works great, I was expecting audio lag but I haven’t had that problem. The unit can push out heat so try to keep in a ventalated area. I finance this & I kinda’ regret it because I don’t think I can return it now & for some reason you can’t download Netflix on the google play store, you gotta’ do a work around which doesn’t make sense. Hopes this review helps a little, also the power brick is huge, kinda’ ugly if you don’t buy the $200 stand to hide it lol

    Excelent projector

projector looks great even in the day time. I recommend hooking it up to an apple tv 4k to make the experience better. The auto keystone correction works great, and this is definitely an upgrade from my 1080p projector. Highly recommend. 2 hdmi ports is also great.
