This is an entertaining movie with very good acting by the kids. It relies heavily on the interaction between the two kids and their relationship. It makes the boy incapable of handling the situation and the girl is very capable. The role reversal is fine except the movie goes to tremendous lenghts to highlight it. There is no real growth in that area of the boy's character. The bad guys shown good intensity. They do a good job of using them and their greed. The movie does a great job of limiting the hero's involvement played by Maximillan Schell.
