Amazing picture equal to top TVs, I was blown away by the clarity and even sound before I connected my surround components. Have this ceiling mounted in basement as part of home theater to a 120” screen and it doesn’t disappoint.

Within 6 months the hdmi 1 port stopped working and I was lazy and didnt want to deal with sending it in. So I switched to hdmi 2. Here I am a little over 6 months later and hdmi 2 goes out. And I still owe over a 1000 dollars on a useless projector. Nice. Thanks a lot Benq.

I purchased a new BenQ HT3550 4K projector to replace our12 year old BenQ PE7700 model. We ordered from the BenQ Store online and customer service reps. we're very curtious and helpful. Our order arrived as qouted and installation was relatively easy. We were able to install the new projector to our previous universal ceiling bracket but needed smaller metric mounting screws. I also needed to replace our previous 25 ft. 3 plug audio/video cable with a new 4K 2.0 HDMI cable. Following the initial start up manual, getting the picture to project properly for a ceiling mount and setting the proper zoom and focus for a 120" wall screen, we were ready to go. The picture was fantastic and so much better than our previous unit without getting into all of the fine tuning capabilities that the HT3550 has to offer. Over all, we are extremely pleased with our purchase, our price and our service from BenQ Direct. Thank you!

Easy install like any other projector. Uses 3 mounting holes for ceiling bracket. Initial setup very easy and user friendly.
Picture quality is phenomenal! Great color, amazing blacks, and HDR is excellent.
Ensure you have a high speed newer HDMI cable supporting 4K and 3D. I’m projecting on a 120” screen and love it! The 3D is amazing!
For those that say not bright enough, they didn’t do basic research as BENQ specifically states this model HT3550 is for dark rooms and the TK800M is for room with more daylight.
My first purchase came defective as half of screen had white vertical lines. However, nobody can really know if came out of factory this way or this occurred during shipping process.
I called BENQ to see if they would exchange and all calls go to voice mail. To this day I never got a call back from them.
Still extremely happy with this purchase! Don’t hesitate to buy this model if you have a dark theater / media room.

I did a ton of research for a new projector. There are so many choices and you can spend a mint. The reviews I read on the BenQ3550 kept coming up great so when Black Friday hit, I took the plunge. For the money, this projector is a steal. Completely happy with the picture. Would recommend using in a light controlled setting.

Recently upgraded to this projector from another Benq, HT2050. Installation was a breeze as it was just moving the mount from the old PJ to this 3550, screen and throw distance stayed the same. After a little tweaking of the settings, with help from members on FB home theater groups, the picture is fantastic. The colors really pop, and it is plenty bright enough even with the lamp in ECO mode, in my basement theater. Fan noise is a little louder than the 2050, but don't even notice it after a movie starts. For anyone wanting to get a real theater like experience with 4K, don't hesitate to grab this projector.

We built a new home with a small media room about 10'x14' and after reviewing the throw distance of various projectors this is the one I settled on. My use was to be movie nights as well as casual gaming.
First off, the setup of this projector was so easy. Simply plugin and adjust the focus and you're ready to go! I would suggest buying a quality mount to make it easier on you. I went with a $14 mount and although it works now it wasn't the easiet to adjust.
The picture on this projector is outstanding!! I can't believe the quality of the image when viewing 4k videos. You'll def want to buy a proper screen and only use this projector in a light-controlled room though as it will fade when light enters the room.
As far as gaming, I did not notice any input lag but I am only playing things such as RDR II and GTAV. Haven't tried anything "twitchy" but I am getting too old for those quick movements anyways.
The projector is mounted above my head and although you can def hear the fan noise it doesn't bother me (which actually surprised me as I am sensitive to noises like this).
I will point out that this puts out a lot of heat so make sure you can keep your room comfortable. I am sure all projectors fall into this category though.
Also - do not put the lamp in eco modes because it will not work with dynamic iris. I had to learn the hard way!
Overall I am very happy and impressed with my first projector and not regretting this choice at all. You won't be disappointed.
A:The best connection is likely a wired, optical (Toslink) one. Would need to know the Klipsch model and available connections on the sound bar to confirm it would work. Otherwise, for a wireless, bluetooth connection, you will need an adapter that will complicate matters signficantly.
A:Thanks for your interest on HT3550; It's equipped with HDMI 2.0, not 2.1. For the HDMI cable to be used on BenQ 4K projectors, please feel free to check out this article: https://www.benq.com/en-us/knowledge-center/knowledge/what-hdmi-cable-do-i-need-for-4k-8k-content.html; hope this helps. thank you
A:Thanks for your interest on BenQ projectors; you can connect your external speakers via Bluetooth by adding a Bluetooth adapter onto the 3.5mm Audio-out port of our projectors, or via a 3.5mm audio cable. Hope this helps
