The Strain: Season 2 [Blu-ray] [3 Discs]

The Strain Season 2 picks up where the first left off, but with the new season, it loses some of the motivation and tension that made the first season so effective and gripping. Thankfully, midseason, things get a lot more intriguing thanks to the newfound focus on the Master and Eichorst's plans as well as the introduction of a new Daywalker who fights for his own unseen ambitions. Story threads involving Eph and Setrakian, the old warrior, are mostly followed through and tied up to the final episode, with the exception of some cliffhangers that can only be answered in season 3, which may possibly be the last season, as only ten episodes are planned compared to thirteen in the 1st and 2nd seasons. If you're wondering if this is a show you'd be interested in, The Strain is very much about the decisions humans make when presented with greed or fighting against a greater evil, which is a recurring theme throughout the series. Additionally, if you have a tolerance for parasitic worms crawling beneath the skin that infest the human host and turn it into a obedient servant to the Master Vampire, this is the show for you, as there are many, gory examples of this in The Strain.

The second installment of this Horror series is as good as the first. Nuff said too me.

The Strain Season Two follows our group of heroes from the first season as they continue to fight, hunt, and kill the strigoi. This time they are searching for the Occido Lumen an ancient book that tells how to destroy the master and finally stop the attack from the vampire/snake strigoi. New characters are introduced, there are losses, wins, heartbreaks, and victories to an extent. This show is fantastic as I have followed the comics for years. Hats off to Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan for really bringing an excellent adaptation to F/X. If you like action, adventure, horror, mystery, suspense, thrills, and of course a few laughs check this out. Amazing performances by David Bradley, Jonathan Hyde, Kevin Durand, and Richard Sammel.

The strain Continues to be a great show. Out of the three viral/pathogen shows that came out recently Helix, The Last Ship, and The Strain. I would say that The Strain is probably my favorite. The premise is pretty interesting and Season two doubles down on some of the great parts of the first season. Interesting take on the subject matter Cool plots and ideas pretty great effects Highly recommend.

I am a huge fan of Guillermo Del Toro and love his work. This is the only vampire show i watch, but be warned this is not your typical vampire. They are more animal-like but controlled by "The Master" like a hive mind and are called Strigoi instead of vampires. The vampires design is similar to the reapers on Blade 2. Great story characters and drama everything you look for in a show.

The strain season 2 has finally been released on DVD! If you have seen season 1 you know what to expect here. Season 2 picks up where the first season left off. More exciting apocalyptic vampire excitement. If you enjoyed the first season you have to keep watching. Now hopefully they don't make us wait too long for season 3 on DVD!
